   The lead track “Self Made” was mixed by Just Blaze and myself in Logic on a SSL AWS 900 and a Apogee Symphony IO. Over the mix bus we used a API 2500, Manley Massive Passive and the Waves BCL Maxx Bass. Most of the beat was left as midi in Logic so that if Just needed to make a change he could do so quickly just hooking up a midi keyboard. This made the work flow all the more faster.

   Finished up this song the other night at Stadium Red. XV recorded the vocals while on the road and sent us a accapella stem to use. Mixed entirely in the box in Logic by Just Blaze and myself.

   Got called into the studio one night. When I got there Just was working on the beat for this. At around 6am Mac Miller arrived at the studio. I tracked his ad libs, “OOH’s” and Justs parts into Logic using a Neumann U87 and a Apogee Duet. I then started mixing the beat at around 7am. Just Blaze still wanted to work on the beat but was traveling so I sent him the Logic file around 2pm. He then sent the Logic file back to Ariel Borujow and I around 8pm to finish the mix and Ricardo Gutierrez to master.

   The transition on Saigon’s album of Friends to Enemies to Greatest Story Never Told were done in Ableton Live. I took the mix stems of all three songs and dropped them into Ableton Live. Started it on the old couch in the A Lounge of Baseline Studios. Just Blaze gave me the blueprint of what he wanted and I went to work from there, playing him pieces for approval. When we had it to where Just liked it I took it into the B Room of baseline to do some mixing to match the three songs sonically. All three songs where initially mixed in Pro Tools on the SSL 4000G+ console. 

   So basically because we imported the mix stems of the mixes into Ableton Live, we were able to manipulate each track in order to create a smooth transition to each song. It was all done on my Macbook Pro.
